About

Strays Without Borders

Strays Without Borders is a UK-registered non-profit organisation (CIC) that aims to help dogs in need of care and homes. We primarily focus on dogs in Macedonia because the situation in the country is dire. Many of them are abandoned, victims of hit-and-run incidents, or abused. All our adopted dogs come from this country, which also inspired us to help many more find loving homes.

We rehome dogs across the whole of the UK, providing full support to all our fosterers and adopters. We aim to be a rescue that people can count on for support. Our detailed home-check process aims to better understand families’ lifestyles and match them with the right dog.

We have also partnered with several local rescues in Macedonia, who rescue and look after the dogs, know their characters, and work hard on their socialization and rehabilitation so they can feel more comfortable in their new homes.

By adopting or fostering a dog, you enable us to help another one that still hasn’t had a chance.

After adopting our lovely Princess Lara from SWB we decided to adopt Alfie too. A lot of hard work, training, perseverance, dedication, and love. Both our dogs get on brilliantly. The team at SWB are always on hand for support and guidance and we are still in constant communication with them sharing updates on how they are both doing. Our young boy is scared of dogs, yet he now loves both of ours and we are working together exposing him to face his fears with other dogs. Our Lara is like a therapy dog and Alfie…well, he eats everything on the planet! 🤣💓
